2017 Comedy Festival

High Tide Comedy Festival Quispamsis Rothesay Saint John New Brunswick

Mark and Didi, Directors of Something Funny Inc., are proud to present the newly minted High Tide Comedy Festival coming to the Kennebecasis Valley in the fall of 2017. They are excited to bring the first annual comedy festival to the region and a very happy that the festival name, High Tide Comedy Festival, highlights two of the things we’re most proud of – the highest tides in the entire world and the some of the best Canadian comedians with ties to our beautiful east coast! The name of the festival was subject to a contest which was won by Saint John resident Zach Periard.

Venues throughout the Kennebecasis Valley and beyond will play host to some of Atlantic Canada’s best and brightest stand up, sketch and improvisational comedians on October 20th and 21st, 2017.
Something Funny Inc. is proud to present a truly east coast comedy festival in Southern New Brunswick. Announced to date are local headliners James Mullinger and Jimmy MacKinley along with the winner of the 2016 Canadian Comedy Award for Best Male Stand Up – Brian Aylward!

Concluding with a gala event on the Saturday evening at the Kennebecasis Valley High School theatre, the festival will include a live recording for future broadcast, open mic nights, multiple shows featuring national headliners, a conference portion for those working in the comedy industry and the screening of an east coast comedy feature film.

Mark Burnett and Didi Lloyd, Directors of the festival and local comedy producers agree that it’s an exciting time for comedy in New Brunswick. Lombard Lloyd continued, ”We’re thrilled that our festival will be loaded with east coast talent – the selection process was a lot of fun and we’re extremely proud of the caliber of comedians we’ll be featuring at the High Tide Comedy Festival.” Every comedian or group performing during the festival either lives or has lived on the east coast or has a connection here.

Tickets and festival passes will be available soon as will information on performing comedians and groups and can be found on our website, http://www.somethingfunny.ca.
